Health & Dental Plans

We all know medical and dental treatment can be expensive. And while government plans assist with the cost, they don’t cover everything. If you’re one of the thousands of British Columbians without benefits through your employer, there are affordable ways to protect you and your loved ones from those costs not covered by the government plans, so that if something unexpected happens, you are prepared and can focus on healing and recovery, instead of worrying about your finances.

Often referred to as a Benefit plan, your health coverage protects you from the high, out-of-pocket costs of health care. The right time to purchase individual health coverage is when you and/or your family are healthy.

Depending on your drug, dental, and supplementary health needs (such as vision care, chiropractic care or emergency travel medical), you simply choose the plan that suits you best.

If you are preparing for retirement or if your employment is ending for another reason, you can continue to receive the health coverage you’ve become accustomed to. There are conversion options available that don’t require medical questionnaires and waive any pre-existing conditions, meaning the plan will cover prescriptions you’re already taking.

There are also Plans specially designed for clients who are leaving their group health plan behind – any group plan – whether through career change, retirement or job loss. Acceptance is guaranteed without completion of a medical questionnaire as long as their Application is received within 60 days of their group coverage ending.

Seeing your dentist regularly is an important part of maintaining good overall health, but, without a dental plan, regular visits can be expensive. A basic check-up can easily cost over $100 per person making regular dental care difficult. However, ignoring your dental health now can lead to even more expensive dental care later and in extreme cases, other health problems.

Stand-alone Dental Plans are also available for individuals who want affordable dental coverage without purchasing an individual health plan, as well as for individuals who don’t have dental coverage through their employer.
